South Korean Startup Rebellions Expands to Saudi Arabia with New Riyadh Office

August 19, 2025
2 min read

The new office will function as a strategic operational hub, ensuring the company can provide a stable supply of its specialized chips, tailored to the needs of the state-run oil giant.

South Korean AI chip startup Rebellions Inc.  is expanding its footprint into the Middle East with the opening of a new unit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The move is a direct result of the $14.4 million investment the company received from Saudi Aramco last year. The new office will function as a strategic operational hub, ensuring the company can provide a stable supply of its specialized chips, tailored to the needs of the state-run oil giant.

Beyond its core partnership with Aramco, Rebellions is actively exploring new business opportunities in the region. The company is currently engaged in discussions with various Saudi telecom operators and other local information technology firms to diversify its partnerships. This expansion is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s broader ambition to build a comprehensive, nationwide AI infrastructure as part of its large-scale national initiatives.

This strategic entry into the Saudi market also positions Rebellions to address the growing demand for “sovereign AI” in the region. The company’s focus on providing the essential hardware for this movement is a critical step in its vision to meet the region’s increasing need for AI systems that prioritize data privacy and local control. The establishment of a local presence will be a key part of the company’s long-term strategy in a market eager for technological self-sufficiency.
