The initiative is designed to provide students with both foundational digital literacy and advanced technological skills to prepare them for the job market and entrepreneurship after graduation.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) , in collaboration with the Final Year Committee of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) , has launched a program titled “Upskill for Employability and Self Reliance” in Bauchi State. The initiative is designed to provide students with both foundational digital literacy and advanced technological skills to prepare them for the job market and entrepreneurship after graduation.

Speaking on behalf of the NITDA Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the Acting Director of the Digital Literacy and Capacity Building Department, Dr. Ahmed Tambuwal, stressed the importance of digital skills for all graduates, regardless of their field of study, to remain competitive in today’s technology-driven economy. The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge to drive job creation, innovation, and wealth generation. One of the beneficiaries, Alih Lubabet, expressed gratitude to NITDA for providing her with a new laptop and skills in cybersecurity, which she plans to use for self-reliance.
