Tanzania Startup Association Partners with AfriCapital to Boost Innovation
The initiative is designed to nurture high-potential startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through structured mentorship, funding access, and tailored advisory support.
The Tanzania Startup Association (TSA) has entered into a landmark partnership with AfriCapital to launch a three-year incubation program aimed at accelerating the country’s startup ecosystem. The initiative is designed to nurture high-potential startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through structured mentorship, funding access, and tailored advisory support.
The program will play a critical role in enhancing investment opportunities, fostering entrepreneurship, and supporting the broader economic development of Tanzania. It is structured to create an inclusive growth environment by engaging innovators from diverse regions and backgrounds, while also contributing insights to inform startup-related policy through TSA’s advocacy efforts.
The incubation program will be rolled out in four phases. It begins with the launch and call for applications, followed by a joint selection and screening process. Startups that qualify will move into the incubation stage, which includes onboarding, growth support, and a Demo Day where they can connect with AfriCapital’s investor network. Post-incubation, participants will continue to benefit from alumni mentorship, access to TSA’s ecosystem, and opportunities for ongoing investor engagement.
This collaboration is positioned as a milestone in Tanzania’s innovation journey, equipping startups with the tools, networks, and resources to scale locally and globally. By aligning with Vision 2050, the program seeks to strengthen the role of startups in driving inclusive economic transformation and positioning Tanzania as a competitive hub for innovation.
