Togo Launches Cybersecurity Training for 250 Professionals to Strengthen Digital Resilience
This programme is implemented in partnership with the Togo Digital Agency (ATD), with the support of the ProDigiT (Digital Transformation of the Togolese Economy) project of GIZ Togo, co-financed by Germany, Luxembourg and the European Union.
Faced with the growing rise of cyber threats, the Togolese Government is stepping up its actions to strengthen the digital resilience of the public and private sectors.
It is in this dynamic that the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation, through the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCy) , proceeded this Thursday, August 28, 2025 in Lomé, to the official launch of cybersecurity training for 250 professionals, 200 of whom will graduate with certifications.
This programme is implemented in partnership with the Togo Digital Agency (ATD), with the support of the ProDigiT (Digital Transformation of the Togolese Economy) project of GIZ Togo, co-financed by Germany, Luxembourg and the European Union. The objective is to equip these Togolese professionals with the necessary skills to anticipate, detect and respond effectively to digital threats.
Three internationally recognized benchmark certifications are offered:
- ISO 27001 Lead Implementer: to master the design and management of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) in accordance with the ISO 27001 standard and prepare for the functions of Information Systems Security Officer (CISO);
- ISO 27035 Lead Incident Manager: to specialize in security incident management and drive incident response within organizations according to the ISO 27035 standard. It prepares professionals for the role of information security incident manager;
- CompTiA Security+: basic certification in network security, threat management and system protection, paving the way for specialties as a security analyst, system administrator, cybersecurity consultant or risk management specialist.
Based on these globally recognized certifications, these training courses will allow participants to contribute to the protection and security of the information systems of the Togolese State and companies.
As a reminder, the beneficiaries of the said training are exclusively Togolese nationals, reside in Togo and come from the public and private sectors. With a minimum level of Bac+3 in computer science, they have experience in support, cybersecurity or network and systems administration. They were selected through a rigorous and inclusive process that resulted in the selection of the best after competitive testing.
