FuturePay Taps Flutterwave to Simplify Payments Across Africa

The move allows FuturePay’s merchants to operate across borders as if Africa were a single market.

Africa’s digital economy is growing at unprecedented speed, fueled by a young, tech-savvy population and high internet penetration. As businesses seek to enter and scale across the continent, navigating its fragmented payments landscape remains a major challenge.

FuturePay , a platform serving virtual content, entertainment, B2B, and cross-border e-commerce businesses, has partnered with Flutterwave  to streamline payments across multiple African countries. The move allows FuturePay’s merchants to operate across borders as if Africa were a single market.

Africa’s diverse payment systems, local banking differences, regulatory requirements, and multiple currencies previously made cross-border collections and payouts complicated for FuturePay. Flutterwave’s robust infrastructure and presence in 34 African countries now enable the company to accept local payment methods, efficiently disburse commissions and rewards, and process B2B payments in local currencies through virtual bank accounts.

“With Flutterwave, FuturePay can scale confidently, unify payments across markets, and simplify operations across Africa,” the company said. By integrating Flutterwave’s solutions via a single API, FuturePay can now onboard merchants faster, reduce operational costs, and gain a competitive edge in Africa’s rapidly growing digital economy.
