The initiative is designed to transform service delivery, enhance innovation, and strengthen competitiveness in the country’s digital economy.

The Government of Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to developing inclusive and trusted digital systems through its Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) roadmap. The initiative is designed to transform service delivery, enhance innovation, and strengthen competitiveness in the country’s digital economy.

The DPI roadmap serves as a strategic blueprint for Kenya’s digital transformation, focusing on five guiding pillars: inclusivity, trust and security, interoperability, innovation, and sustainability. It aims to unlock digital identity, secure payments, trusted data exchange, and digital platforms that will improve both lives and businesses.

Development of the roadmap brings together the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, the ICT Authority, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), marking a significant milestone in Kenya’s digital journey.

The government has emphasized the importance of urgency, clearly defined roles, and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the success of the DPI roadmap. With this initiative, Kenya is positioning itself as a regional leader in digital public infrastructure, setting the stage for greater innovation and inclusive growth across Africa.
