The training focused on enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in government operations.

The Copperbelt SMART Zambia  Unit has successfully conducted an intensive ICT Utilization Training aimed at strengthening public service delivery through digital platforms. The session, held on August 20 at the Mufulira Municipal Council Chambers, brought together 31 government officers from more than a dozen institutions.

The training focused on enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in government operations. Participants received practical guidance on the Citizens’ Portal, ZamPortal, and official Government Mail, alongside an orientation on national digitalisation initiatives.

Officials drawn from key sectors—including the Ministry of Labour, Zambia Police Service, Ronald Ross General Hospital, and Mufulira College of Education—actively participated in hands-on demonstrations.

Observations highlighted strong enthusiasm from participants, though many had limited prior exposure to the systems. Trainers recommended province-wide rollouts, periodic refresher courses, and improved ICT infrastructure to sustain momentum.

The programme was declared a success, equipping officers with vital digital skills to improve public service delivery across Mufulira District.
