The event highlighted the critical role of women in shaping Zimbabwe’s digital future and addressed the urgent need to close the digital gender divide.

The Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services of Zimbabwe  participated in the inaugural Her Digital Edge Indaba 2025, organized by the Internet Society Zimbabwe Chapter under the theme “Equipping Women to Lead the Digital Transformation.” The event highlighted the critical role of women in shaping Zimbabwe’s digital future and addressed the urgent need to close the digital gender divide.

Held with the support of partners including POTRAZ, the Indaba convened government leaders, industry executives, and ICT professionals to discuss strategies for empowering women as leaders, innovators, and creators in the digital space. Key issues addressed included digital literacy as a fundamental right, building a safe and inclusive digital ecosystem, and advancing women’s leadership in technology and policymaking.

Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services Tatenda A. Mavetera underscored the importance of women’s participation in the digital revolution, emphasizing that the nation’s full potential cannot be realized without their active involvement. Speakers such as Internet Society Zimbabwe Vice President Gladys Chibanda and Old Mutual Insurance Zimbabwe Managing Director Gloria Zvaravanhu also shared insights on the importance of gender inclusivity in driving digital transformation.

The Indaba marks an important milestone in Zimbabwe’s digital journey, reinforcing national efforts to ensure women and girls are not only participants but leaders in the country’s technology-driven future.
