The revised standards aim to guarantee faster internet speeds, stronger mobile network coverage, and smarter, future-ready buildings, ensuring that residents and businesses benefit from world-class telecommunications services.

The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA)  has released an updated version of the In-Building Telecommunications Infrastructure Standards, a move designed to accelerate digital transformation and improve connectivity across Qatar.

The revised standards aim to guarantee faster internet speeds, stronger mobile network coverage, and smarter, future-ready buildings, ensuring that residents and businesses benefit from world-class telecommunications services.

According to CRA, the update reflects its commitment to laying the groundwork for a modern digital environment that encourages innovation, strengthens the national economy, and enhances quality of life. The initiative also supports the long-term objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasizes sustainability, technological advancement, and knowledge-based growth.

By aligning building infrastructure with international best practices, the CRA seeks to ensure that new developments are equipped with advanced telecom capabilities, while older structures can adapt to evolving digital demands. This strategic move is expected to boost Qatar’s competitiveness in the digital economy and position the country as a regional leader in smart infrastructure.
