Madagascar Launches 10th Huawei ICT Competition to Empower Youth in Digital Economy

The 10th edition of the Huawei  ICT Competition was officially launched on September 18, 2025, in Antaninarenina, marking a significant milestone for Madagascar’s digital development.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Digital Development, Mrs. Stéphanie Delmotte, highlighted the central role of digital technology as a driver of economic growth and employability for Malagasy youth. She praised the outstanding achievements of Malagasy students, who secured second place globally for two consecutive years, showcasing the country’s competitiveness alongside leading tech nations.

The Minister also commended the value of public-private partnerships, particularly with Huawei, in strengthening digital infrastructure and nurturing local talent. Such collaboration between government, industry, and academia is seen as crucial to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional opportunities for young people.

Mrs. Delmotte concluded by encouraging Malagasy youth to embrace the opportunities provided by the digital sector, emphasizing the importance of training, innovation, and discipline as pathways to success.
