The initiative, in partnership with Primedia Broadcasting, aims to improve learning outcomes and equip students with essential skills for a digital world.

Ministers Solly Malatsi and Siviwe Gwarube have collaborated on an initiative to donate smart learning tablets to students in South Africa, as part of a joint effort to expand digital access in schools. The initiative, in partnership with Primedia Broadcasting, aims to improve learning outcomes and equip students with essential skills for a digital world.

This is part of a broader government strategy to leverage public-private partnerships to bridge the digital divide. The tablet handovers have taken place at various schools, including the Forest Village Leadership Academy in Cape Town and Glenvista Primary School in Johannesburg. These devices are intended to support learners in subjects like reading and mathematics, while also introducing them to coding and robotics. The ministers have emphasized that the program is a crucial step in preparing students for the 21st-century economy and ensuring no child is left behind.
