Egypt and South Korea Eye Collaboration in Training, Tech Transfer, and SME Financing
CEO of the agency, Basel Rahmy, held talks with South Korean Ambassador to Cairo, Kim Jong Hyun, to explore partnership opportunities in financing, entrepreneurship, training, and technology transfer.
The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSME) has opened new avenues of cooperation with the Republic of South Korea aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship and supporting small businesses in Egypt.
CEO of the agency, Basel Rahmy, held talks with South Korean Ambassador to Cairo, Kim Jong Hyun, to explore partnership opportunities in financing, entrepreneurship, training, and technology transfer. The meeting was also attended by senior leaders from both the agency and the South Korean Embassy.
Discussions centered on sharing experiences and adopting Korean best practices, particularly in areas such as innovation, professional training, and the integration of the informal sector. According to Rahmy, the collaboration aligns with the agency’s commitment to international cooperation as a pathway to achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The talks also highlighted the importance of building stronger ties between Egypt and South Korea to advance entrepreneurship and foster sustainable economic growth. At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Kim invited the MSME agency to participate in the upcoming Korea-Egypt Economic Cooperation Conference scheduled for September 30. In turn, the ambassador accepted an invitation to attend the “Heritage” handicraft exhibition on October 4.
