The updates span new large language models, multimodal AI systems, enterprise AI development platforms, and next-generation cloud infrastructure.

Alibaba Cloud  has announced a major wave of artificial intelligence (AI) innovations at its annual Apsara Conference 2025, reinforcing its ambition to lead the global AI era. The updates span new large language models, multimodal AI systems, enterprise AI development platforms, and next-generation cloud infrastructure.

At the core of the announcement was the launch of Qwen3-Max, Alibaba’s most advanced large language model to date, with over one trillion parameters. The company also introduced new multimodal systems, including Qwen3-VL for vision-language tasks and Qwen3-Omni, a multilingual model capable of handling text, images, audio, and video in real time. In addition, Alibaba previewed its Wan2.5 suite for advanced video and image generation, alongside upgraded speech recognition and synthesis models.

To support developers and enterprises, Alibaba enhanced its Model Studio platform with new high-code and low-code tools for building AI agents, while also upgrading AgentBay and launching Lingyang AgentOne, a one-stop enterprise AI application platform. On the consumer side, the company rolled out Quark Zaodian, a dedicated AI-powered image and video creation hub.

Alibaba also revealed significant infrastructure upgrades to handle the demands of large-scale AI, including high-performance storage, networking, and container services, as well as an optimized PolarDB database and new AI-powered cloud security features. According to CEO Eddie Wu, these innovations reflect Alibaba’s vision of making AI models as foundational as operating systems, with RMB 380 billion earmarked for further AI and cloud investments over the next three years.

With more than 600 million downloads and over 170,000 derivative models created since the launch of its Qwen series in 2023, Alibaba Cloud has already built one of the world’s most widely adopted open-source AI ecosystems. The new releases aim to accelerate adoption across enterprises, developers, and consumers, positioning Alibaba as a key driver of the next phase of global AI.
