Mastercard Appoints New Leaders to Advance Strategy Across Turkey and Region
Following the appointment of Avşar Gürdal, General Manager of Mastercard Turkey and Azerbaijan, as Vice President, Business Development, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (APEMEA), Onur Faydacı, who has served as Deputy General Manager responsible for Customer Relationship Management at Mastercard since 2022, has been appointed to the vacant position.
Two senior appointments have been made at Mastercard , a global technology company operating in the payment systems sector. Following the appointment of Avşar Gürdal, General Manager of Mastercard Turkey and Azerbaijan, as Vice President, Business Development, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (APEMEA), Onur Faydacı, who has served as Deputy General Manager responsible for Customer Relationship Management at Mastercard since 2022, has been appointed to the vacant position.
In his new role, effective October 1, 2025, Faydacı will be responsible for operations and performance management in Mastercard’s Turkey and Azerbaijan region, aiming to further strengthen the company’s presence by implementing its strategic priorities in both markets.
Gürdal will be responsible for designing and implementing strategy in the Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA) region, evaluating investment opportunities that support the implementation of strategic priorities, and managing analytical functions.
Who is Avşar Gürdal?
Avşar Gürdal began his career at Unilever and worked at PRG and Value Partners before joining Mastercard Advisors in 2015. He was appointed Director of Customer Relationship Management at Mastercard in 2016, Vice President of Mastercard Turkey in 2019, and General Manager of Mastercard Turkey and Azerbaijan in 2022. Gürdal graduated from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds an MBA from Koç University.
Who is Onur Faydacı?
With nearly 20 years of experience in financial services, Onur Faydacı began his career at HSBC Bank Turkey in 2006. Faydacı held various roles in Corporate Banking and Corporate Credit Allocation and served as Country Risk Manager at Merrill Lynch Investment Bank in 2012. Faydacı held senior management positions in the investment banking department at HSBC Bank Turkey from 2013 to 2018. Faydacı joined Mastercard Turkey’s Customer Relationship Management team in 2018, taking on the role of Director of Customer Relationship Management for Large and Medium-Sized Financial Institutions. Most recently, he demonstrated successful leadership in his position as Deputy General Manager responsible for Customer Relationship Management at Mastercard Turkey. Faydacı graduated with high honors from Boğaziçi University’s Economics department and holds an MBA from Bahçeşehir University.
