Ghana Reaffirms Commitment to Expanding Digital Inclusion and Improving Telecom Services
Hon. George outlined the Ministry’s policy priorities, including improving telecom service quality, expanding digital inclusion in underserved areas, strengthening consumer protection, and advancing Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, briefed the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communications during an oversight visit to the Ministry.
The engagement, held at the Ministry’s Conference Room, provided a platform for the Minister and his management team to update Members of Parliament on key sector policies, regulatory frameworks, and the mandates of agencies under the Ministry, including the National Communications Authority (NCA), the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), and the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC).
Hon. George outlined the Ministry’s policy priorities, including improving telecom service quality, expanding digital inclusion in underserved areas, strengthening consumer protection, and advancing Ghana’s digital transformation agenda. He also shared updates on legislative reviews, spectrum management, and infrastructure projects such as the rollout of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT).
Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Abednego Bandim Azumah, commended the Ministry for the comprehensive briefing, noting that concerns raised by citizens on service quality and accessibility were well addressed. He added that the Committee will continue further engagements with sector agencies in the coming days.
The Minister expressed gratitude for the collaborative approach and reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensuring communications sector policies deliver tangible benefits to Ghanaians.
