Senegal Distributes 5,000 Computers to Students, Launches AI Training for Teachers
The initiative aligns with Senegal’s long-term development framework, Vision Senegal 2050, and the New Technological Deal, which place digital innovation at the center of the country’s transformation strategy.
The Force-N Sénégal program, led by the Université numérique Cheikh Hamidou Kane (UN-CHK) in partnership with the Ministry of National Education and supported by the Mastercard Foundation, has officially launched a major initiative to strengthen digital education in the country.
At a ceremony held on September 30, 2025, at the Museum of Black Civilizations in Dakar, officials announced the start of a national campaign to distribute 5,000 computers to students in the S1 and S3 series. Alongside this effort, a large-scale training program was introduced to equip teachers and ministry staff with skills in digital technology and artificial intelligence.
The initiative aligns with Senegal’s long-term development framework, Vision Senegal 2050, and the New Technological Deal, which place digital innovation at the center of the country’s transformation strategy.
Following the Dakar launch, the Force-N Sénégal team, in coordination with regional education authorities, will extend the distribution of computers across the national territory to ensure students throughout the country benefit from equal access to digital tools.
By combining digital infrastructure with teacher capacity-building, the program seeks to empower the next generation of Senegalese learners and make technology a cornerstone of the country’s education system and economic future.
