SMART Zambia Joins Satellite Regulation Training to Advance Digital Transformation
The training is aimed at building regulatory capacity, fostering stronger institutional collaboration, and supporting Zambia’s ongoing efforts to expand digital infrastructure.

The Electronic Government Division, SMART Zambia Institute , has taken part in a satellite regulation training programme organized in collaboration with the World Bank, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA).
The training is aimed at building regulatory capacity, fostering stronger institutional collaboration, and supporting Zambia’s ongoing efforts to expand digital infrastructure. According to SMART Zambia, the initiative is closely aligned with the Digital Zambia Acceleration Project (DZAP), which is funded by the World Bank.
The DZAP seeks to expand internet access across the country, strengthen last mile connectivity, and extend the national backbone infrastructure, with satellite technology expected to play a pivotal role in bridging connectivity gaps.
The participation of SMART Zambia in this training reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging global partnerships and advanced technologies to accelerate the nation’s digital transformation.
