South Sudan Minister Commits to Boosting Media and Communication in Warrap State
The plan aims to bridge telecommunication gaps and prepare Warrap State for the upcoming general elections.
The Minister of Information, Communication, Technology, and Postal Services has pledged to strengthen media and communication infrastructure in South Sudan’s Warrap State.
The commitment was made on Wednesday following a detailed briefing from Warrap State Governor, Bol Wek Agoth, on the challenges facing Greater Warrap.
During the meeting, the Minister promised to provide on-job training to enhance the capacity of state and community media outlets, ensuring they are better equipped to serve the public.
Governor Bol Wek Agoth highlighted the harsh realities facing Warrap residents, noting the absence of roads, limited communication, and lack of businesses, which continue to make life difficult for communities in the state.
He further informed the Minister that his administration will soon submit a priority list to the national government focusing on information and communication needs. The plan aims to bridge telecommunication gaps and prepare Warrap State for the upcoming general elections.
