McLaren brings more than two decades of expertise in payments and fintech, most recently serving as General Counsel at Stitch Payments.

NjiaPay, the African payments startup, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Mike McLaren as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The announcement was made by CEO and Co-Founder Jonatan Allback, who highlighted McLaren’s extensive experience and hands-on approach as critical assets for the company’s next phase of growth.

McLaren brings more than two decades of expertise in payments and fintech, most recently serving as General Counsel at Stitch Payments. His addition to the NjiaPay leadership team comes at a pivotal moment, as the company prepares for the peak shopping season marked by Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas in South Africa.

According to Allback, McLaren’s pragmatic and results-driven mindset will support Roderick Simons, Luuk Winkens, and the broader NjiaPay team in accelerating execution and maintaining high-quality delivery.

The appointment underscores NjiaPay’s commitment to scaling its operations and delivering seamless digital payment solutions across Africa’s rapidly growing e-commerce and retail sectors.
