Madagascar Launches Skills4Job Project to Empower Youth in the Digital Era
This program, which brings together 51 young people from the region, is part of President Andry Rajoelina's ambitious vision to make Madagascar an innovative and competitive digital nation.
On October 2, 2025, in Toamasina, the official launching ceremony of the first cohort of the Skills4Job project, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Digital Development, Posts and Telecommunications (MNDPT), took place. This program, which brings together 51 young people from the region, is part of President Andry Rajoelina’s ambitious vision to make Madagascar an innovative and competitive digital nation.
In a national context marked by economic and social challenges, the Skills4Job project is intended to be a lever of hope and transformation. More than just a program, it embodies a real strategy turned towards the future, putting at the heart of its action the Malagasy youth, a living force capable of converting obstacles into opportunities thanks to its talents and creativity.
The city of Toamasina, the country’s economic lung and main port, has been chosen as the ideal gateway for this digital adventure. With more than 80% of international trade passing through its port, Toamasina is naturally positioned as an essential gateway for Madagascar’s economic and digital development.
The Minister of the MNDPT, Mrs. Stéphanie Delmotte, stressed the paramount importance of training and supporting the young people of this dynamic region so that they are fully equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s digital world. He also praised the mobilization of local partners, companies, trainers and authorities who, together, are carrying out this project with unwavering commitment.
The launch of this first cohort marks a milestone for the MNDPT in its mission to build an inclusive digital ecosystem, capable of supporting the country’s growth and making its young people the key agents of change.
