The Girls-In-ICT Programme is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to bridge the gender digital divide, advance digital inclusion, and nurture the next generation of Ghanaian women leaders in technology and innovation.

The Chairperson of the Mentorship Session for the National Girls-In-ICT Programme in Ghana’s Upper West Region, Prof. Hamida Dramani, who also serves as the Vice Chancellor of Dr. Hilla Liman Technical University, has urged participating girls to embrace Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills as a pathway to self-empowerment and global opportunity.

Addressing the 1,000 beneficiaries, Prof. Dramani highlighted the importance of ICT and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in preparing young women to thrive in the digital age. She commended the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation for leading a transformative initiative that not only imparts practical digital skills but also fosters mentorship and leadership development among girls.

She encouraged the participants to remain focused, confident, and determined in pursuing their ambitions within the fast-changing, technology-driven world.

The mentorship session also featured accomplished women professionals and mentors from various fields who shared insights, experiences, and guidance on overcoming barriers and seizing opportunities in ICT and STEM sectors.
