The discussions explored ways to expand broadband connectivity across Katsina and strengthen cooperation through national flagship programmes such as the Broadband Alliance and the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative — both aimed at improving access and building the digital skills needed for the country’s evolving economy.

The Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, hosted the Executive Governor of Katsina State, H.E. Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, for a strategic meeting focused on deepening collaboration between the Federal Ministry and the Katsina State Government to fast-track digital transformation initiatives.

During the meeting, both leaders commended Katsina’s notable progress in advancing its digital agenda, including the adoption of a free Right of Way (RoW) policy and the enactment of a state digital policy law. These milestones have positioned the state as a key player in driving Nigeria’s digital inclusion and innovation goals.

Minister Tijani reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the establishment of an Innovation Hub in Katsina, emphasizing that such infrastructure will help nurture local talent, foster entrepreneurship, and empower communities. He added that the partnership aligns with Nigeria’s broader vision of creating a more connected, inclusive, and digitally empowered nation.
