Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation Signs MoU with DigitA to Advance Digital Innovation
The collaboration is aimed at integrating technology and innovation into the promotion and preservation of Black and African cultural heritage.
The Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC) , a parastatal under Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, has entered into a strategic partnership with DigitA, an Africa-based strategy and advisory firm, through a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The collaboration is aimed at integrating technology and innovation into the promotion and preservation of Black and African cultural heritage. As the leading institution responsible for showcasing and safeguarding the cultural legacy of African peoples globally, CBAAC is expanding its reach by embracing digital transformation to advance its mandate.
Under the agreement, DigitA will act as CBAAC’s official digital adviser, offering strategic guidance on the development of digital frameworks, training initiatives, and capacity-building programmes. The firm will support CBAAC in crafting and executing digital strategies that enhance the institution’s operations, visibility, and impact across global audiences.
The partnership also encompasses the creation of digital infrastructure to strengthen CBAAC’s presence in the digital space, as well as the development of innovative products and scalable solutions linked to African arts, culture, and heritage. Both organizations aim to establish a model for how African cultural institutions can effectively leverage digital technology to preserve history, promote creativity, and connect communities across the continent and the diaspora.
