Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to building a digitally driven economy and strengthening international partnerships in technology and cybersecurity. Speaking at the Romania–Kenya IT & Cybersecurity Business Forum in Bucharest — held alongside the Bucharest Cybersecurity Conference 2025 — Hon. William Kabogo Gitau highlighted Kenya’s progress under the Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy agenda and called for stronger collaboration between Kenyan and Romanian tech industries.
Hon. Kabogo emphasized that Kenya’s digital transformation strategy is connecting homes, schools, and enterprises nationwide, positioning the country as a regional hub for innovation, e-government, and digital trade. He noted that Kenya’s goal of achieving a paperless government by 2030 is driving new investments in data centres, cloud infrastructure, fintech, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity — sectors critical to the country’s long-term competitiveness.
Underscoring the importance of international cooperation, he described Romania as a natural partner for Kenya, citing its world-class expertise in software engineering, cybersecurity, and digital innovation. He invited Romanian companies to invest, co-innovate, and collaborate with Kenyan counterparts in developing technologies that create jobs, enhance digital resilience, and deepen Africa–Europe cooperation.
Hon. Kabogo concluded by reaffirming Kenya’s vision of building trusted digital economies that open new frontiers of opportunity, not only for Kenya but also for global partners committed to inclusive, secure, and sustainable digital growth.
