Together, these initiatives underscore SMART Zambia’s vision for digital self-reliance, where local skills, local data, and local solutions drive sustainable national growth.
The Electronic Government Division, SMART Zambia Institute has announced two major partnerships aimed at fast-tracking the nation’s digital transformation and strengthening e-Government capabilities. The announcement was made during the official opening of the Digital Government Africa (DGA 2025) Summit in Lusaka.
The first collaboration — SMART Zambia x inq Zambia x Mezzanine — will be powered by the Helium Platform, a framework that enables government ministries and institutions to design, scale, and host secure digital solutions locally. This partnership operates under a Kwacha-based Service Level Agreement (SLA), ensuring local currency transactions and full in-country support, reflecting Zambia’s commitment to building domestic digital infrastructure.
The second partnership — SMART Zambia x VISA — was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on advancing secure and inclusive digital payment solutions. This collaboration is expected to enhance e-Government service delivery, promote financial inclusion, and strengthen trust in Zambia’s emerging digital economy.
Together, these initiatives underscore SMART Zambia’s vision for digital self-reliance, where local skills, local data, and local solutions drive sustainable national growth. The partnerships are seen as pivotal in positioning Zambia as a leader in secure, citizen-centric digital governance across the region.
