LINX Maintains Top Global Standard for Cybersecurity and Operational Resilience

October 13, 2025
2 min read

The latest recertification reinforces LINX’s capability to manage and mitigate information security risks effectively, ensuring the resilience and reliability of its services in an increasingly interconnected digital landscape.

The London Internet Exchange (LINX)  has achieved continued certification for the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard, upholding the highest operational and security standards.

ISO/IEC 27001:2022, known as ISO 27001, is an internationally recognised standard that outlines the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system (ISMS).

The demand for ISO certification within the telecom sector is driven by increasingly rising data volumes, cybersecurity threats, regulatory compliance needs and the global demand for operational resilience and quality. In October 2024, LINX achieved its first recertification, following their initial certification in September 2021, demonstrating the continued ability to uphold the highest standards of operational and information security standards across the organisation.

“Achieving continued ISO 27001 certification is a significant accomplishment that really underscores our ongoing commitment and vigilance in maintaining robust security practices and operational excellence. For LINX, this achievement reflects the dedication of our engineering teams and the wider organisation to safeguarding sensitive information, ensuring resilience, and continuously evolving our practices in line with global best standards. Most importantly, it reinforces our responsibility to our members and stakeholders, demonstrating that their trust is well placed and that we remain focused on protecting their interests at every level.”

Daniel Smith, Cybersecurity Policy Manager, LINX

LINX underwent a rigorous audit process conducted by the British Standards Institution (BSI), an accredited certification body, to validate its compliance with ISO 27001:2022 standards across all operational areas. The latest recertification reinforces LINX’s capability to manage and mitigate information security risks effectively, ensuring the resilience and reliability of its services in an increasingly interconnected digital landscape.

Failing to implement an effective Information Security Management System (ISMS) can carry significant financial and reputational consequences. ISO 27001 has become a cornerstone of modern risk management strategies, playing a vital role in strengthening IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks. For organisations operating in increasingly complex digital environments, the standard is essential for safeguarding data, building stakeholder trust, and demonstrating a proactive approach to security.
