Ethio Telecom and TINNO Explore Collaboration to Drive Digital Inclusion Across Ethiopia and Africa

Ethio Telecom and TINNO, a global technology company and leading Original Design Manufacturer (ODM), have held a high-level strategic meeting to explore a transformative partnership aimed at expanding access to affordable smart devices and accelerating digital inclusion in Ethiopia and across Africa.
The meeting brought together Ethio Telecom’s Chief Executive Officer, Frehiwot Tamru, and Mr. Andy Meng, Vice President of Global Business at TINNO, along with senior leadership teams from both organizations. The discussions focused on joint initiatives to introduce cost-effective smart devices through an ODM model and to establish a local smart device manufacturing facility. This strategic move is expected to significantly enhance device availability, affordability, and sustainability, strengthening the broader digital ecosystem.
During the discussions, CEO Frehiwot Tamru highlighted Africa’s vast digital potential and Ethio Telecom’s pivotal role in enabling it. TINNO’s Vice President, Andy Meng, expressed his company’s strong commitment to supporting Ethio Telecom’s efforts by developing affordable device solutions and facilitating the establishment of a local manufacturing plant.
