The offerings include Teach, integrated into Microsoft 365 Copilot, which helps educators automate lesson preparation, quizzes, rubrics, and adjustments (length, difficulty, standards alignment) — all at no extra cost for eligible education customers.

Microsoft  revealed a suite of new AI-powered tools and integrations aimed at transforming education. The offerings include Teach, integrated into Microsoft 365 Copilot, which helps educators automate lesson preparation, quizzes, rubrics, and adjustments (length, difficulty, standards alignment) — all at no extra cost for eligible education customers.

In addition, Microsoft is launching Study and Learn, an intelligent agent for students designed to support adaptive learning through activities like practice, concept review, and quizzes. The service will debut in preview in November 2025.

Microsoft is also extending Copilot functionality deeper into everyday learning tools. Copilot Chat—powered by GPT-5—will be added to apps like Outlook and PowerPoint and will integrate with popular learning management systems (LMS) including Canvas, Schoology, Brightspace, Blackboard, and Moodle™, starting December 2025.

To widen access to these new capabilities, Microsoft will offer an academic subscription to Microsoft 365 Copilot at USD 18 per user per month (ages 13+), beginning December 2025. This includes advanced features such as agent access, customization (Copilot Tuning), and robust privacy and data controls.

Early results already signal substantial time savings: educators within Brisbane Catholic Education reported gaining over 9 extra hours per week by using Copilot tools, and at the University of South Carolina, 84 % of users said they saved between one and five hours per week.

These developments reflect Microsoft’s aim to embed AI across instructional, research, and operational workflows. Institutions are already building custom agents to support functions like campus services, event management, and student engagement — leveraging autonomous capabilities to enhance efficiency across the education ecosystem.
