Government of Morocco Unveils AI and Digital Learning Program for Children Nationwide
Through this initiative, Morocco reaffirms its commitment to building a digitally empowered society, where education, innovation, and technology work hand in hand to drive sustainable growth and inclusive development.
The Government of Morocco has officially launched the National Program for Children in the Fields of Digital and Artificial Intelligence, a pioneering initiative aimed at empowering young generations with the skills needed to thrive in the digital era. The launch ceremony took place at the Hassanouna Youth House in Tangier, and was presided over by Mrs. Amal Al-Falah Al-Sagroshny, the Minister assigned to the Prime Minister in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, alongside Mr. Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
The program is implemented under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Nasir Allah, and aligns with the national vision to promote technological innovation, strengthen digital literacy, and ensure equitable access to digital opportunities for Moroccan youth. It seeks to equip children with digital and AI-related skills, foster creativity, and close the digital divide between regions and communities.
This ambitious initiative stems from a strategic partnership framework between several key institutions — the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the International Center for Artificial Intelligence in Morocco (AI Movement – UM6P), part of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, under the supervision of UNESCO.
The program also forms a central part of the “Digital Morocco 2030” national strategy, which envisions an advanced and inclusive digital society that can lead Africa and the broader region in artificial intelligence and sustainable development. By investing in young learners today, Morocco aims to prepare a generation capable of shaping and leading the country’s technological future.
The first phase of the program was officially launched on October 20, 2025, simultaneously in twelve cities across the kingdom, representing diverse regions of Morocco. A dedicated team of 65 youth facilitators has been trained to support children participating in this pilot stage. Following an evaluation of this initial phase, the program will be progressively expanded to all youth centers nationwide to ensure sustainability, inclusion, and long-term impact.
Through this initiative, Morocco reaffirms its commitment to building a digitally empowered society, where education, innovation, and technology work hand in hand to drive sustainable growth and inclusive development.
