The partnership aims to tokenize physical infrastructure assets spanning food production, minerals, renewable energy, and cross-border trade, creating an integrated digital ecosystem that enables efficient, transparent, and scalable participation in infrastructure development.

The Global Settlement Network (GSN)  has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Diacente Group  to bring $5.5 billion worth of real-world infrastructure assets on-chain, marking a transformative step toward digitizing Africa’s critical economic sectors.

The partnership aims to tokenize physical infrastructure assets spanning food production, minerals, renewable energy, and cross-border trade, creating an integrated digital ecosystem that enables efficient, transparent, and scalable participation in infrastructure development.

As part of the initiative, GSN and Diacente Group are launching Africa’s largest tokenized infrastructure economy, starting in Uganda. The project will introduce a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) pilot, backed by Ugandan treasury bonds, designed to promote inclusive, mobile-first financial access for citizens and businesses.

This collaboration introduces a sovereign-first model for digital infrastructure, combining blockchain innovation with national economic frameworks to unlock new forms of value creation and cross-border investment. By digitizing real-world assets and linking them to secure, transparent financial systems, the initiative is expected to accelerate economic inclusion, sustainability, and growth across the continent.

The partnership underscores a shared vision to modernize Africa’s infrastructure financing through tokenization and digital asset management, ensuring long-term transparency, liquidity, and accessibility for both local and international investors.

With this launch, GSN and Diacente Group are positioning Uganda — and Africa more broadly — as a global leader in blockchain-powered infrastructure and sovereign digital transformation.
