Egypt and Switzerland Explore New Opportunities in ICT and Offshoring
The visit forms part of Egypt’s broader strategy to deepen bilateral cooperation with Switzerland and position itself as a leading destination for global digital partnerships.
The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has hosted a high-level Swiss business delegation at Smart Village to explore opportunities for collaboration in the technology and offshoring sectors. The visit forms part of Egypt’s broader strategy to deepen bilateral cooperation with Switzerland and position itself as a leading destination for global digital partnerships.
Organized in cooperation with the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services (CCIG), the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (SwissCham Egypt), the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), the visit aimed to strengthen commercial and technological ties between the two nations.
During the visit, the delegation toured major multinational technology companies, including IBM and Concentrix, located in Smart Village, where they met with company representatives to discuss Egypt’s growing potential in offshoring and digital innovation. The group also held meetings with ITIDA officials to explore potential areas of collaboration, investment, and knowledge exchange within Egypt’s rapidly expanding ICT ecosystem.
The discussions highlighted Egypt’s competitive advantages, including its skilled workforce, cost-effective business environment, and strategic location connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The engagement also underscored Egypt’s emergence as a trusted hub for technology services and innovation, reaffirming ITIDA’s mission to attract international partnerships and boost foreign investment in the digital economy.
This visit marks another step forward in Egypt’s efforts to enhance its global presence in ICT and offshoring, fostering a stronger, innovation-driven partnership between Egypt and Switzerland.
