Chad’s Ministry of Telecommunications Installs Newly Appointed Technical Managers
The event marked an important administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening the ministry’s operational efficiency and aligning its leadership with the country’s evolving digital transformation priorities.
The Ministry of Telecommunications, Digital Economy, and Digitalization of the Administration has officially installed newly appointed technical managers following recent government appointments under Decree No. 2690/PR/PM/MTENDA/2025, issued on October 21, 2025.
The installation ceremony, held in the ministry’s conference room on Friday morning, was presided over by the Inspector General of the Ministry, Mr. Kemkil Adangran Benoit. The event marked an important administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening the ministry’s operational efficiency and aligning its leadership with the country’s evolving digital transformation priorities.
One of the key highlights of this restructuring is the creation of a new General Directorate for Artificial Intelligence (AI), a significant milestone reflecting Chad’s commitment to advancing emerging technologies and innovation. The newly established directorate will be led by Ms. Zara Ahmed Sedick, who previously served as Director of Technology Watch within the Ministry of Telecommunications.
During the ceremony, the Inspector General formally read the nomination decree, extended congratulations to the newly appointed officials, and offered words of guidance and encouragement. He urged the new leadership team to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and dedication in carrying out their duties to support the ministry’s modernization agenda.
The event concluded with the official handover of responsibilities among outgoing and incoming officials, reinforcing the ministry’s focus on continuity, accountability, and effective governance.
This reshuffle underscores the Chadian government’s determination to accelerate digital transformation, strengthen institutional frameworks, and build capacity in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, telecommunications infrastructure, and digital innovation.
