October 27, 2025
2 min read

This initiative is part of the government’s broader policy to modernize and digitalize the public administration, as envisioned by the Head of State, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.

Ministry of Digital Economy  held a working session on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF), the National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund (CNAMGS), the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), and a Tax Representative. The meeting was organized to finalize the launch of the pilot phase of the project to digitalize cash registers.

This initiative is part of the government’s broader policy to modernize and digitalize the public administration, as envisioned by the Head of State, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. It reflects the country’s ongoing commitment to improving efficiency, transparency, and innovation across its administrative and fiscal systems.

During the session, participants reviewed the technical platform designed to support the project, confirming that it is ready for the pilot phase. They also established an operational schedule extending until October 30, 2025. The pilot phase itself is planned to run from October 30 to December 15, 2025, allowing for evaluation and adjustments before the system’s nationwide deployment.

The official launch of the digital cash register system is scheduled for January 2026. This reform marks a significant milestone in Gabon’s digital transformation strategy, aiming to enhance fiscal management, simplify administrative processes, and foster greater accountability within public institutions.
