According to the latest data from the CA, Safaricom PLC continues to lead the broadband sector, commanding a 34.3% market share, followed by Jamii Telecommunications Ltd (20.6%) and Wananchi Group (Kenya) Ltd (12.7%).

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA)  has reported significant growth and renewed competition in the country’s broadband and fixed data market, signaling a dynamic shift in Kenya’s digital connectivity landscape.

According to the latest data from the CA, Safaricom PLC continues to lead the broadband sector, commanding a 34.3% market share, followed by Jamii Telecommunications Ltd (20.6%) and Wananchi Group (Kenya) Ltd (12.7%). Poa Internet Kenya Ltd ranks close behind at 12.5%, highlighting the strong presence of homegrown internet providers.

Other notable players include Ahadi Wireless (7.5%), Vilcom Network (4.1%), Mawingu Networks (3.6%), Dimension Data Solutions East Africa (0.9%), Starlink Internet Services Kenya (0.8%), and Liquid Telecommunications Kenya (0.8%), with other smaller ISPs collectively accounting for 2.3% of the market.

The CA noted that the entry of new internet service providers has brought fresh competition and innovation, reshaping Kenya’s broadband landscape. This momentum aligns with the nation’s continued investment in digital infrastructure, rural connectivity, and internet accessibility — all central to its goal of expanding affordable and reliable broadband access nationwide.

As Kenya’s digital economy grows, increased competition among ISPs is expected to drive improved speeds, coverage, and customer experience — supporting the country’s ambitions to remain one of Africa’s leading digital hubs.
