By eliminating transaction costs, Smartcash aims to drive greater adoption of digital banking, promote inclusion for underserved communities, and simplify financial interactions for both individuals and businesses.

In a bold step toward reshaping Nigeria’s financial landscape, Smartcash Payment Service Bank (Smartcash PSB),  a subsidiary of Airtel Nigeria, has announced the launch of its Zero-Charges initiative—a complete removal of fees on all interbank transfers, bill payments, and SMS notifications.

The new model is designed to make digital financial services more affordable and accessible for millions of Nigerians. By eliminating transaction costs, Smartcash aims to drive greater adoption of digital banking, promote inclusion for underserved communities, and simplify financial interactions for both individuals and businesses.

The initiative is expected to ease financial pressure on households and small enterprises while advancing Nigeria’s broader financial inclusion goals. It also reflects Smartcash PSB’s mission to make digital finance a tool for empowerment by removing barriers that have traditionally limited access to essential financial services.

With mobile and digital payments forming an integral part of everyday life for many Nigerians, the Zero-Charges model positions Smartcash PSB as a customer-focused institution that prioritizes transparency, affordability, and accessibility. The approach aligns with Airtel’s vision of using innovation and connectivity to improve lives and support national economic development.

The Zero-Charges framework establishes a new benchmark for Nigeria’s financial services industry by redefining customer expectations and challenging long-standing pricing models. It signals a shift toward a more inclusive, transparent, and sustainable financial ecosystem in which customers can transact seamlessly without cost concerns.

Through this initiative, Smartcash PSB reinforces its role as a leader in financial innovation, setting the pace for an era of digital banking defined by openness, affordability, and equal opportunity.
