Nigeria Unveils 3MTT–NJFP Placement Initiative to Link Youth with Tech Jobs at No Cost to Employers

The initiative is a collaboration between the Federal Government, the European Union (EU), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP).

The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy (FMCIDE)  has launched the 3MTT–NJFP Placement Initiative, a national program designed to connect thousands of skilled Nigerian youth with job opportunities across the country — at no cost to employers.

The initiative is a collaboration between the Federal Government, the European Union (EU), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP). It links graduates of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program with businesses seeking qualified digital professionals in areas such as software development, data analysis, product design, and digital marketing.

Through this partnership, employers gain access to vetted, pre-screened digital talent while avoiding traditional recruitment and onboarding costs. The program supports Nigeria’s growing digital economy by ensuring that trained professionals can transition seamlessly into the workforce.

According to the Ministry, the 3MTT–NJFP Placement Initiative streamlines the onboarding process for employers through an online application, expression of interest form, and vetting process. Approved organizations also receive a Federal Government partnership badge, which enhances institutional credibility and strengthens future grant or partnership applications.

The initiative is open to corporations, SMEs, startups, and innovation hubs across Nigeria, as well as digitally enabled businesses seeking tech talent. With global partners such as Microsoft and Airtel already participating, the program is expected to significantly accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation and strengthen the link between education, skills development, and employment.

The launch reflects FMCIDE’s commitment to advancing a sustainable digital workforce pipeline, supporting youth empowerment, and positioning Nigeria as a competitive player in the global digital economy.
