Under this new partnership, Choice Bank will enable last-mile payouts directly to mobile wallets through Safaricom’s secure remittance payment infrastructure, a system regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya.

Kenya’s Choice Bank  has announced a strategic partnership with Safaricom PLC  to enhance international remittance services across the country. The collaboration aims to streamline cross-border money transfers and improve last-mile payout efficiency for customers receiving funds in Kenya.

Under this new partnership, Choice Bank will enable last-mile payouts directly to mobile wallets through Safaricom’s secure remittance payment infrastructure, a system regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya. This integration will allow customers abroad to send money home seamlessly, ensuring faster, more secure, and transparent transactions into Safaricom’s mobile money ecosystem — notably M-Pesa, Kenya’s leading digital financial platform.

Choice Bank described the initiative as a major step forward in its mission to provide best-in-class API banking and payment solutions across Africa. The move strengthens the bank’s position as a key enabler for global and local remittance partners seeking to reach Kenyan customers more effectively. By leveraging Safaricom’s extensive mobile network and regulatory compliance, the partnership bridges fintech innovation with trusted financial infrastructure.

This collaboration also highlights Kenya’s growing influence in Africa’s digital finance and remittance landscape, where mobile money continues to play a central role in driving financial inclusion. For remittance providers and fintech startups, the Choice Bank–Safaricom partnership opens new pathways for integration and expansion into Kenya’s dynamic payments market.

With this development, Choice Bank reinforces its commitment to empowering digital payments, financial access, and cross-border connectivity, positioning itself as a leading player in Africa’s evolving fintech ecosystem.
