The launch represents a key milestone in the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, underscoring its commitment to digital inclusion, data protection, and citizen empowerment.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially unveiled the NIMC NINAuth Application, a groundbreaking digital innovation by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) that places data control directly in the hands of Nigerian citizens. The launch represents a key milestone in the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, underscoring its commitment to digital inclusion, data protection, and citizen empowerment.

The NINAuth App is designed to give individuals full authority over their personal data linked to the National Identification Number (NIN). Through the app, users can grant, revoke, or review access permissions to their data, ensuring enhanced privacy, security, and transparency in how personal information is shared and used.

For businesses and enterprises, the application introduces a secure and efficient mechanism for identity verification, fostering greater trust and regulatory compliance in digital transactions. It is expected to streamline operations across sectors such as banking, telecommunications, and fintech, where reliable identity verification is essential.

From the roadside vendor applying for a microloan to telecommunication companies onboarding millions of subscribers, NINAuth is built to serve all Nigerians, regardless of location or digital literacy level. It simplifies the verification process, making it faster, safer, and more accessible while reducing instances of identity theft and unauthorized data use.

The introduction of NINAuth also marks a significant step toward modernizing Nigeria’s digital identity ecosystem. For government agencies, the platform enables secure access, better oversight, and improved transparency in service delivery — essential pillars for achieving a trusted and inclusive digital economy.

With the launch of NINAuth, NIMC continues to advance Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, empowering citizens with greater control over their identities and setting a new standard for data protection, accountability, and innovation in public service.
