SMART Zambia Partners with UNDP to Advance Digital Health Infrastructure
The initiative, part of the Smart Health Systems (SHS) project, represents a significant milestone in the country’s drive to strengthen digital public infrastructure and enhance access to digital services in the healthcare sector.
The Electronic Government Division under the SMART Zambia Institute, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) to provide reliable internet connectivity to 751 health facilities across Zambia.
The initiative, part of the Smart Health Systems (SHS) project, represents a significant milestone in the country’s drive to strengthen digital public infrastructure and enhance access to digital services in the healthcare sector. By expanding nationwide connectivity, the partnership aims to improve data management, service delivery, and health system efficiency, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
This collaboration aligns with Zambia’s broader vision for digital transformation and inclusive development, leveraging technology to support better healthcare outcomes and ensure no community is left behind in the country’s digital progress.
