Driver’s License Renewal in Minutes: South Africa Launches Seamless #MyMzansi Digital Platform

South Africa has unveiled a new digital platform, #MyMzansi, aimed at providing citizens with streamlined, zero-rated access to government services. The launch took place at the Global DPI Summit, where Minister Solly Malatsi showcased a live demonstration of the platform.

The prototype allows users to complete processes such as driver’s licence renewals within minutes, with credentials verified, details updated, and a digital licence issued — all integrated with existing national systems.

The initiative highlights South Africa’s push toward digital government services, improving efficiency and accessibility for its citizens.
