Gabon Reinforces Commitment to Digital Transformation at ITU Conference
Gabon’s participation carries added significance this year, as the country takes part as a member of the ITU Innovation and Digital Entrepreneurship Alliance, underscoring its growing influence within key global digital governance institutions.
The Ministry of Digital Economy, Digitalisation and Innovation is representing the Gabonese Republic at the World Conference on Telecommunications Development (CMDT-25), taking place from 17 to 28 November 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan, under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Gabon’s participation carries added significance this year, as the country takes part as a member of the ITU Innovation and Digital Entrepreneurship Alliance, underscoring its growing influence within key global digital governance institutions.
According to the Ministry, Gabon’s presence at CMDT-25 aims to advance several national priorities, including expanding connectivity, strengthening digital inclusion, and promoting innovation. The delegation is also tasked with showcasing ongoing reforms in infrastructure development, cybersecurity, national cloud capabilities, artificial intelligence, and digital entrepreneurship—key pillars of the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The delegation is led by Minister Mark-Alexandre Doumba, who is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings with international organisations, development partners, and private-sector stakeholders. These engagements aim to accelerate progress in modernising digital infrastructure, expanding cloud and AI adoption, advancing e-government services, and strengthening national digital skills.
The Ministry emphasised that Gabon’s participation aligns with the vision of the President of the Republic, Head of State and Head of Government, H.E. Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, to position digital technology as a cornerstone of national modernisation, sovereignty, and administrative efficiency.
With its active role at CMDT-25, Gabon continues to assert its position among nations shaping the future of global digital development.
