South Sudan Strengthens Telecom Oversight With Swearing-In of New NCA Board
The newly sworn-in Board is expected to accelerate efforts to improve telecom regulation and drive connectivity across South Sudan.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday officially swore in the newly appointed Chairperson and Members of the Board of Directors of the National Communication Authority (NCA), marking the formal commencement of their duties nearly two months after their appointment.
The ceremony confirmed Tejwok Simon Ajak as the Chairperson of the NCA Board, the regulatory body responsible for overseeing South Sudan’s telecommunications sector. Before taking up this role, Eng. Ajak served as Deputy Chairperson of e-service and held a position within the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority.
During the swearing-in, President Kiir called on the Board to strengthen the NCA’s mandate by ensuring that communication services across the country become more reliable, accessible, and responsive to national development needs.
