Ethics and governance were major focal points, with school leaders receiving guidance on implementing AI solutions safely, effectively and in ways that safeguard learner well-being.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), in partnership with Abu Dhabi University and SABIS International School, organised a landmark conference titled “Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Private K–12 Education Curriculum – Empowering Tomorrow’s Classrooms.”
Hosted at SABIS International School on Yas Island, the event gathered leading educators, policymakers and technology experts to examine how AI can enhance private K–12 education across Abu Dhabi.
The conference focused on translating the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence into practical classroom applications. Discussions covered both the technical and ethical dimensions of AI adoption, emphasising responsible and future-ready integration in line with national priorities.
Opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Dr Ali bin Harmal Aldhaheri, First Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber and Chairman of the Chamber’s Education Working Group. The Ministry of Education provided a keynote on AI in curriculum development, with additional contributions from Abu Dhabi University, SABIS Educational Services and several leading education and technology organisations.
Throughout a series of keynote presentations, panel discussions and hands-on workshops, participants explored strategic AI integration from kindergarten to Grade 12, examples of AI tools already being used successfully in teaching and learning, the role of AI in school administration and the potential of AI-powered assessment platforms. A closing panel addressed how to align educational priorities and define future directions for AI-enabled learning.

Speaking during the event, H.E. Dr Ali bin Harmal Aldhaheri stressed that education must evolve alongside the UAE’s economic ambitions. He noted that building a strong, innovation-driven economy requires classrooms where teachers are confident using new digital tools and students are able to understand, question and improve emerging technologies. He added that the conference provided an important opportunity for school leaders, academics and AI experts to examine curriculum models, review approved AI tools and share practical experiences from real classrooms—steps he said were essential for moving from broad aspirations to effective, confident use of AI in education.
The conference reinforced a shared national vision for preparing students to thrive in an innovation-led environment. It supports the UAE’s goal of building a learning ecosystem capable of anticipating future challenges and enabling every student to contribute to a dynamic and forward-looking society.
