CSquared Applies to Join LINX Accra to Strengthen Ghana’s Digital Connectivity

November 25, 2025
2 min read

CSquared,  a pan-African technology company committed to digitally connecting Africa, has officially applied to join LINX Accra,  the newly launched Internet Exchange Point (IXP) in Ghana.

This strategic move aligns with CSquared’s mission to build a more inclusive and interconnected Africa and follows the company’s recent expansion of its West African fibre backbone.

LINX Accra, operated by the London Internet Exchange (LINX), is a fully redundant, multi-site interconnection hub designed to future-proof digital services and enhance Ghana’s connectivity ecosystem. With a physical presence at Onix and PAIX data centres and a third site at Digital Realty’s ACR2 facility coming soon, LINX Accra offers low-latency, cost-effective peering solutions that keep local traffic local and reduce reliance on international transit routes.

“Having CSquared not only as a new network to the LINX community, but as one of our first champions connecting to LINX Accra is amazing. We value the support of such a key player in the region for connectivity.”

Jennifer Holmes, CEO, LINX

CSquared’s application to join LINX Accra comes on the heels of its major infrastructure milestone: the rollout of a strategic cross-border fibre backbone across West Africa. This network interlinks coastal and landlocked countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Burkina Faso, and others, providing high-capacity, low-latency connectivity that complements subsea cable systems including Equiano, for which CSquared is the landing partner in the Republic of Togo.

“Joining LINX Accra is a natural step in our journey to empower Africa’s digital future. Our expanded fibre backbone is designed to reduce single points of failure and deliver resilient, scalable connectivity. By peering locally in Ghana, we’re helping to build a stronger, more efficient Internet ecosystem for the region.”

Ian Paterson, CEO, CSquared

The synergy between CSquared’s terrestrial infrastructure and LINX Accra’s interconnection platform promises to accelerate digital transformation, support local ISPs and enterprises, and attract global digital services to West Africa. This collaboration also reinforces Ghana’s position as one of the most internationally connected countries in Africa, thanks to its strategic location, vibrant technology ecosystem and robust digital infrastructure.
