The engagement forms part of Ghana’s wider strategy to accelerate its digital transformation and strengthen its ICT ecosystem through global partnerships.

Ghana’s delegation continued to make a strong impression at the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan, where they held a high-level meeting with the Dominican Republic to deepen bilateral cooperation in the digital sector. The engagement forms part of Ghana’s wider strategy to accelerate its digital transformation and strengthen its ICT ecosystem through global partnerships.

During the discussions, the Dominican Republic delegation outlined their priorities in advancing telecommunications and highlighted key milestones, including their upcoming 100-year anniversary as part of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and their recent election to the ITU Council.

Ghana, in turn, emphasized its own ambitions on the global stage, reaffirming its bid for a seat on the ITU Council and its re-election to the Radio Regulations Board (RRB). The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to collaborate on shared digital development goals and contribute meaningfully to international ICT progress.
