This initiative is part of the Regional Digital Integration Program in West Africa (WARDEEP-Mauritania), funded by the World Bank Group, and aligns with the Ministry’s broader efforts to modernize governance through digital solutions.
In a major step toward digital governance and legal transparency, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Administration Modernization (MTNIMA) officially launched the digital portal of Mauritania’s Official Gazette today. The ceremony was attended by the Minister in charge of the General Secretariat of the Government, Mr. Mohtar Husseinu Lam, Minister of Digital Transformation and Administration Era, Mr. Ahmed Salem Badh, Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Wold Aswedat, and the representative of the International Bank of Mauritania, Mr. Ibu Gov.
The portal is designed to serve as a comprehensive, freely accessible digital reference for legal texts, supporting professionals, investors, researchers, and administrators with transparent and reliable information. It compiles, archives, and publishes all issues of the Official Gazette dating back to 1959, alongside key international laws, regulations, and conventions. The platform is bilingual (Arabic and French) and features an advanced search engine, facilitating quick and efficient access to legal documents.
This initiative is part of the Regional Digital Integration Program in West Africa (WARDEEP-Mauritania), funded by the World Bank Group, and aligns with the Ministry’s broader efforts to modernize governance through digital solutions.
To ensure the platform’s sustainability, MTNIMA has included a capacity-building program to train government staff on digital archiving, legal database management, and content updates, guaranteeing that the portal remains current with new legislation and serves as a dynamic resource for years to come.
