The workshop aims to support member states in addressing the limitations of IPv4 and expanding connectivity across national networks.

The African Telecommunications Union (ATU),  in partnership with AFRALTI  and Masterspace Solutions Ltd, has inaugurated a Capacity Building Workshop on IPv6 adoption in Nairobi. The initiative brings together 60 participants from 30 African countries to enhance technical expertise and policy readiness for the deployment of IPv6.

The workshop aims to support member states in addressing the limitations of IPv4 and expanding connectivity across national networks. ATU emphasized the importance of local experts in guiding both regulatory and technical transitions, ensuring that countries are well-prepared for the next generation of internet infrastructure. The program is part of a broader collaboration under the first cycle of the ICANN Grant Program.
