Awarri Signs MoU with Sierra Leone to Build Multilingual AI Model
The partnership represents a significant step in Awarri’s mission to accelerate the development and adoption of frontier technologies across Africa.
Awarri has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Sierra Leone to develop a multilingual AI model tailored to the country’s diverse linguistic environment. The agreement, executed through the Ministry of Communications, Technology and Innovation, extends the company’s work on N-ATLaS, the Nigerian-built foundational AI model.
The partnership represents a significant step in Awarri’s mission to accelerate the development and adoption of frontier technologies across Africa. By collaborating with key Nigerian institutions—including NCAIR, NITDA and the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy—the initiative aims to equip the continent’s next generation of innovators and digital economies with advanced AI tools.
The project is expected to strengthen Africa’s position in AI development while supporting Sierra Leone’s digital transformation agenda.
