LexisNexis Launches Enhanced IDVerse Platform to Combat Deepfakes and AI-Driven Fraud
The upgraded solution uses proprietary artificial intelligence to detect advanced threats such as deepfakes and synthetic identities while accelerating verification for legitimate users.
LexisNexis Risk Solutions has introduced an enhanced version of LexisNexis IDVerse, a next-generation identity verification platform designed to strengthen fraud detection and streamline digital onboarding across sectors including financial services, gaming, retail and telecommunications. The upgraded solution uses proprietary artificial intelligence to detect advanced threats such as deepfakes and synthetic identities while accelerating verification for legitimate users.
The latest release boosts accuracy, improves biometric and document checks and reduces the number of steps required in the verification process. Enhanced deepfake detection capabilities enable organizations to counter increasingly sophisticated fraud attempts involving forged or AI-altered images and documents. With digital fraud accelerating, many organizations continue to rely on disparate tools for device analysis, behavioral monitoring and identity checks, leading to higher costs, operational gaps and greater friction for users.
LexisNexis Risk Solutions aims to solve this fragmentation through the LexisNexis Dynamic Decision Platform, which unifies device risk intelligence, digital identity profiling, behavioral risk analysis and identity fraud controls in a single workflow accessed through one API. IDVerse is integrated into this platform to help organizations make more informed decisions and strengthen security across the customer lifecycle.
The upgraded IDVerse platform includes several key enhancements. Its global coverage allows instant extraction of personal information from nearly all government-issued photo IDs worldwide, supporting identities from more than 220 countries and territories in over 140 languages. A new conceal mode hides the user’s selfie view during capture, increasing comfort, improving liveness accuracy and reducing errors. Video-based document liveness checks prevent injection of manipulated or AI-generated images, while the Camera AI module optimizes frames and improves text capture for greater precision.
The platform also delivers faster capture times, reducing the verification process from an average of 12 seconds to near-instant results. Users can switch between front and back device cameras, and a simplified six-screen interface removes three steps from the previous process to reduce friction and minimize drop-offs.
The wider platform helps organizations verify genuine customers from the beginning by combining document validation with biometric face matching and liveness checks. It supports trusted users with rapid step-up authentication to mitigate account takeover risks. A server-side deepfake detection engine strengthens protection against AI-driven impersonation attempts without increasing the burden on users.
By integrating IDVerse into its Dynamic Decision Platform, LexisNexis Risk Solutions provides a unified approach to fraud prevention and identity verification, enabling organizations to confidently onboard users, block sophisticated attacks and streamline access to digital services.
