This initiative underscores Oman’s commitment to nurturing local talent and advancing the nation’s position as a leader in digital innovation and cyber resilience.

Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT)  has officially opened registration for the Hadatha Sectorial Hackathon, a national initiative designed to advance cybersecurity and foster innovation in the country’s telecommunications sector. The program invites developers, cybersecurity specialists, entrepreneurs, and startups to create solutions that enhance data protection, strengthen digital infrastructure, and support Oman’s ongoing digital transformation.

The hackathon aligns with the nation’s strategy to build a secure and resilient digital ecosystem. Participants will collaborate on practical, scalable projects aimed at addressing emerging cyber threats across critical industries. Emphasis will be placed on developing locally-driven technologies that contribute to a sustainable, knowledge-based economy.

Beyond technical development, the Hadatha Hackathon provides a platform for Omani innovators to demonstrate their expertise, share insights, and engage with peers to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity landscape. MTCIT has set participation requirements to ensure high-quality engagement: teams must consist of two to four members, commit to the full 12-hour event, and adhere to professional and ethical standards throughout the program.

This initiative underscores Oman’s commitment to nurturing local talent and advancing the nation’s position as a leader in digital innovation and cyber resilience.
